Thorin Headcanon #3

Thorin has absolutely no sense of direction. He was little when he started getting lost in the outskirts of Erebor, and Thrain soon grew tired of sending out search parties after his son. He appointed Dwalin to follow the prince like a shadow, even if Thorin wasn’t particularly happy about it. Usually, there is someone by his side to keep him on the right path before he could walk off the map. Yet, despite the former experiences, Thorin insisted to make his way to the Shire alone, so Balin and Dwalin let him. The result? Thorin got lost. Twice.
